“Tis the Season” Concert Raises Over $86,000 for the Rockport-Fulton ISD Education Foundation

A magical December afternoon filled with holiday music unfolded at a sold-out performance by the Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra and the Rockport-Fulton High School Chorale, all in support of the Rockport-Fulton ISD Education Foundation. Thanks to the community’s generosity, the Foundation collected over $86,000 (net), enabling the funding of vital programs for our schools.

These essential funds support the Foundation’s initiatives, including Innovative Teachers Grants, scholarships for students, and recognition of excellence among educators and staff within the Rockport-Fulton ISD. Our next event, Shining Stars, will honor outstanding graduating seniors and the district employees who have had the most positive impact on their educational journey. This celebration, attended by RFISD Interim Superintendent CJ Lowery, Foundation President Mike Piwetz, and others from the district and beyond, highlights the importance of teacher recognition and retention.

In addition to honoring educators, the Foundation provides support through Innovative Teaching Grants, which encourage and reward innovative instructional approaches. Applications for these grants will open in late February, with awards announced in April.
At this year’s senior scholarship day, numerous scholarships will be awarded.

The Education Foundation’s mission is to foster community support, providing private funds for creative and innovative programs that enhance career and academic education while promoting staff excellence.
